I'm looking to go back to a rack multi-fx processor. I was using a Rocktron Replifx for a long time. I thought about going back but then I thought, I wonder how the G-Major compares to the Replifex? Which is better? What are the pros and cons of each?

My personal opinion FWIW, I like rocktron gear. I like my Gmajor too. if you are used to the fine detail setup the rocktron does.. go rocktron. you can dial in a more defined setting compared to the gmajor I also tried the expressions bit it didnt seem to handle things well as the rocktrons of the past. didnt seem as warm. the gmajor is clean, clear defined. but doesnt give you all the menu control the rocktron does. but I like the gmajor because I can setup something quick through the menus. I use the gmajor daily.
I think The Gmajor also seems quiter than past older rocktron gear. the intellifex would be a good comparison to the gamjor for noise levels induced. although I mostly control CC and Midi events with the Rocktron all access. So i dont visit the rack gear to often. controls dials on the tc are a little frail. rocktrons controls are like a rock. but again I never hardly touch the front panels.
Intellifex would be a great move also
I moved away from my Rocktron Racks when I bought my splawn. funny my rack is growing agian!
beam me up scotty!

Well, the reason I was going with those is I wouldn't have to have a MIDI adapter for the Splawn because of the built in relays that can switch functions on the amp. That's why I'm not really looking at the Intellifex.
I'm still unsure if I want to go back to the rack effects. On my own, I really don't use that much effects. I almost never use delays or echos. Just reverb and maybe a modulation effect on he clean channel.
Depending on what style of band I end up with usually effects what kind of effects I end up using.
I think I might wait a while before I do anything. I would still like to know my options, though.

right on! maybe a Rv-5 and a chorus will do you! I use the gmajoe to switch, but its all midi, never not used midi. so I am probably not much help. I like the control at me feet. now if I had bigger feet I could stomp more at once! haha.. good luck!
