JB or BBQ?
Man I love both of these pickups...
I think I tend to favor the BBQ overall, especially for it's punch. But there is something about the JB that makes it work for me.I really love them both.
I guess my analogy would be the BBQ is more like a plexi and the JB is more like an 800 if that makes any sense.

I'm all about the JB man....the pup just suits my playing....that's the only way I can describe it..I've tried about a dozen pups in various guitars and always come back to the JB...

Axemane...that is probably the best analogy between the two that I've ever heard. I dig the BBQ more because it has that low end "thud" that I can't get with any other pickup. The JB is hit or miss with me...in some guitars it just sounds like heaven...in other's, it sounds like brittle poo. In my lester, I could live with either...same with my PRS Singlecut...but my Edwards V seems to not like the JB at all.

I like the BBQ a lot. It's been a while since I played through a JB. I only play the BBQ on maybe 2 or 3 songs at a gig but I totally dig the tone it has. I'm a single coil type guy. LOL!!

I currently have BBQ's in my RG550,Jackson soloist?,and a Kramer/Jackson hybrid. All strat type bodies and different types of wood.Sounds fat and chunky with a smooth top end .I dig it.
I have a Charvel model3 and a Jackson tele with the JB and they sound great too.
Both are great pickups and work well with the Marshall type tones(i.e. "Splawn") we all know and love! ;D

Craggin- I hear ya.....
I feel like the BBQ sounds great in everything I have tried it in,but the JB sounds great in some and like *a s s in others.
* too much high end brittleness/presence, but only in certain guitars. It sounds awesome in my Jackson tele which is ash I think.
Anyone tried the EVH? Custom Custom?
