3200 for just about any guitar is way too expensive...the angus young sig SG? too friggin' high..the Zakk Wylde custome LP? too friggin' high
a MICHAEL WILTON sig model? I don't think he warrants a sig model much less one that costs that much...
I like mindcrime as much as the next guy, but the dude's an average guitar player at best

that's the MSRP so it would probably be more like 1800-2000..but still too much!

Ok, I guess I should have clarified a few things. First of all, I'm primarily talking about the LOOK of the guitar (cool or not cool). Secondly, I would NEVER pay for the Custom Shop version, but the LTD (further down the page) is probably a decent value (based on a Guitar Player review of several signature LTDs, in their Aug '03 issue). And thirdly, I have NO interest in Wilton specifically OR his association with this guitar OR whether he deserves a signature model.
So......bearing in mind that the LTD has a Duncan JB in the bridge, an original Floyd Rose, Sperzel locking tuners and streets for around 900 bucks.....does that make it any cooler?.....or does it still suck?

But look at the custom one. The only differences between the 2 are a birdseye maple fingure board and a glow in the dark graphic. Other than that they appear to be the same...............unless they cheat you out on the $900 one with cheaper woods!

motrock--
it's all about build quality! I have a true blue ESP and I've played and owned LTD's..no comparison...
my lynch has held up nicely for 10+ years...my LTD felt like it was gonna fall apart after a week...it was pretty lookin' though...stained babinga top..very sexy..they dont' make it anymore...hmmmm...lol....
and I think the guitar's quite ugly..just my two cents though!

And it has some nice appointments. But I have to admit, given the price of other Korean made guitars, even 900 is still a little steep. If ESP is counting on the appeal of the guitarist to sell these, I'm with shreder.....they picked the wrong guy. I don't know WHO they expect to sell the pricey one to. So, price-point (and build quality) aside....whattaya' think?....good, bad, or ugly? (I'm assuming that DC or the shredmeister cast the one vote that I have so far.)

Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! Excellent feedback, dude. I have ZERO experience with ESPs and LTDs. I was pretty much just lookin' for the "ugly" part, as far as the poll goes, but I certainly value your opinion regarding the difference in build quality. Thanks shred. So, I should put you down as "undecided"?....BWAHAHAHA!!!

I don't think you can beat an older ESP as far as production guitars go...playabilty, sound, etc, etc...only neck I'm comfy on! as far as my LTD goes..put it do you this way...the trem felt like it was plastic and was gonna fall off at any moment, the knobs were all loose (sure, they can be tightened, but c'mon!! first impressions and all) and whatever they finished the fretboard with used to stain my fingers...WTF oh yeah, it sounded like poop too =)

oh...and that price is MSRP...that doesn't mean it's 3199... the average price of something is 60% of msrp...so that would put that guitar at around 1800 or so....
