Shred....what do you need to know ? I will tell you this... with decent tubes eg/JJ's or something I'd just leave it. It's safer and can increase tube life to run bias on the cold/high side. I don't think you need a hotter-bias on your Splawn. Bias is a Negative voltage usually 40-60v that controls how much output level an output tube can achieve. The higher the voltage the colder the bias the longer output tubes tend to last. Some people set for current level...I set by ear and visually.

heheh..yeah, I've heard that there's deadly plate voltages in there..even with it off!!
the whole biasing thing was just a knee jerk reaction to some perceived problems I seem to be having...hack and motrock, you guys know the poop!

DerekB posted a picture of the QR board that shows which trimpot to adjust. As long as you just touch that trimpot...you'll have no problems. Like Hacksaw mentioned...don't put both hands in the amp as you could potentially close the circuit and blow up your heart. As long as you have a healthy dose of respect for the amp, you'll be fine with a Bias Rite. One thing I've found is that the QR tends to sound "meaner" when biased a little on the cold side...warming it up tends to make it a little loose sounding IMO.
