As I mentioned earlier, I really wasn't too happy with the Duncan Custom 5 that came standard with my V, so I ordered a BBQ. Well the p'up arrived today...so I installed it, setup the guitar, balanced the pickups, and....
It RIPPED!! The BBQ immediately gave me that throaty snarl I like, and the spongy low end from the C5 was gone...that "stop on a dime" low end came back!! Thankfully, I don't have to go through the requisite shopping list of pickups now.

Cool! thanks for the review, I was thinking of ordering a set of BBQ's, now I know I will, as thats what I am looking for in my Flyin V! I got a old super distortion duncan thats history in it now.. its weak and microphonic.

glad you found what you liked man!! it was a toss up for me..either the BBQ or the CC in my mirage..maybe one day I'll slap the BBQ in here just to see how it sounds....
what tone wood was that V again?

I have the BBQ in my Mansel and it ripps! If I ever get another guitar built for me, the BBQ will be in it!

Ok I am getting pumped to do this.. just curious where did you buy yours? Hacksaw, I got it at Guitar Heaven...I needed it in Zebra to match the '59 I have in the neck and they had it in stock for a decent price. Did I mention how much I liked the tone? ;D
