I agree Vom, anything is better than nothing with VH. I just hope he doesn't write more of that crap he did on the last hits package. Up For Breakfast was in the neighborhood, but those tunes SUCKED.

i pray to EVH every night that that rockstar thing is TRUE...i don't get how people are against it...ed's doing NOTHING...this will allow him to do SOMETHING... a) hagar is dunnnnnnn...he's bad mouthing ed every day in the press...last time i checked that's not a way to stay in a band b) DLR is NOT coming back...they already tried that 4 times... anything that will allow EVH to write some songs and play some stages...any stages...is alright with me...and it should be alright with YOU thing is, they shouldn't have to resort to the already inundated reality TV market to do so... why not, it's gonna get them out in the public eye...what the fook else are they doing...first, this is a moot point because they're not doing it, but why is it such a crime...let the dude audition a singer and stay with that dude...

Cherone belongs with Extreme. If Nuno would quit trying to be Prince and get back to what he does best the world would be a better place. I did like Cherone with VH but like him better with the band he belongs with. I give props to Radiohead for being experimental. It's good that they go against the grain a bit. Smashing Pumpkins did the same thing but what they were doing after Gish just made me want to vomit.
Cheetohs and blow jobs for everyone!

not a fan of siamese dream? That's what I meant to say Nate. Thanks for the correction. I had a brain fart. Siamese dream had some catchy tunes. I was never a fan of their over processed guitar tone but Corgan can write some really good pop songs when he wants to.

See what I both like and dislike about Radiohead is exactly what I both like and dislike about Smashing Pumpkins. I had the very annoying job of having to transcribe the entire double-cd Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness for a student years ago.. ugh..
When Gish came out I saw them on their first tour with an open-mind.. and it was just horrible.. both those bands write these great catchy tunes,, but what are you guys hearing thats "different". I mean if the tunes are good but the playing is just SOOO bad.. why bother?
I mean if you guys want to hear the best pop songs buy a Beatles record. Everything after the Beatles to me just sounds like the Beatles with distortion.. compositionally its just boring and been done to death.
If I'm going to listen to stuff thats been done ad-nauseum I'd rather listen to it in the context of guys that are playing something interesting.

I mean if the tunes are good but the playing is just SOOO bad.. why bother? Why not? I used to take a song like "Cherub rock" and put a really cool (IMO) guitar solo in it and sit back and say to myself "Now that's how he should have wrote that" I hated his lead playing but I still found some good in his songs. BTW I do own every Beatles cd ever released. ;D
