Ok Guys, Gals, Shredder, Craig, and Jimbax,
I took Scott's advice and I've got Rio Grande Singles in my H/S/S configured guitar. Tall Boy in the neck and Half Breed in the middle. They sound pretty good for singles but there's still the hum factor going....which I'm not crazy about. I'm thinking about replacing them with Dimarzio HS3 as I'm a huge Yngwie fan and there would be little or no hum.
Any of you guys tried the HS3 and what are your opinions? And will they make you sound like ying/yang? ;D
Thanks,
Patrick

Any single coil pickup will produce a bit of hum unless you're in the out of phase positions (hum cancelling) I use VAn Zandt's and they're extremely quiet. They're still single coils but quieter than the HS-3 that I had.

The reason why you don't hear hum coming from YW's Strat is the guy is NEVER quiet ;D

I have a few guitars with HS3's in the neck and/or bridge. These are hum-cancelling pickups. Stacked double coils.I understand they can be wired single, but why?
If you want YJM's sound as far as pickups in a strat, use a DiMarzio YJM in the neck and HS3 in the bridge.
