I had an Axis for awhile..while it's definetly a quality instrument there were a few things I couldn't get by..no matter what was done, the upper fret action was horrible...
but it DID sound really good with the duncans in there and I liked the feel of a bare maple neck..it was sweet to look at too....

I looked into Carvins and it seems like they have alot of QC issues in the reviews. Many said there were dings in the wood, poor electronics and hardware? I guess for a $1000 custom shop guitar that's what you get these days. Sad.
$2000 guitar won't happen soon enough for me if ever really does. I need something sooner than 2 years down the road!

I do like the look though:) I had the natural finish with birdseye maple neck...dude, the tiger striped maple top was one of the prettiest things I EVER saw!!!! the thing just didn't feel right to me though..small neck radius, etc, etc..but that's just a preference thing

Not my thing really. I am not to big on the setup and I am trying to not get bolt on necks. Small neck radius is a problemo for me as well; big hands. Thanks though!

I was just adding some thoughts vom's suggestion about the axis... the neck radius was bizarre...lol..very small from E to E, but DEEP...felt weird after playing my ESP...

I guess I am used to the fat LP neck so small thin necks just feel cheap or something to me ya know? no doubt dude..I went from a strat clone to an ibanez voyager (similar neck) to my big lynch neck..that was a hard transition..but after 10 years on the thing, everythign else is a chore it seems..lol

Its sweet looking but I am looking for something different than Strat or LP since I own them already. I think something more along the lines of PRS style.
