as some of you know i'm a member of the suhr forum also...
ed yoon, john suhr's associate, posted this concerning a post i created concerning al estrada...
"I've known Al for nearly 20 years and he's a good friend of ours and we're really happy to have him aboard with our guitars and amps. We'll be working with Al closely on the development of a future single-channel hot-rodded-Marshall kind of an amp in the future soon. Al rocks! "

typical....suhr will issue a contract stating: al blabla will receive X amount per units sold etc...he obviously feels no loyalty to Splawn...probably a cool guy...best of luck to him.

See, Scott was thinking the same thing the other day when I talked to him. He said he hadn't heard from Al in a while. Thats probably why. Kind of sucks..........cause we all know what sounds better. My Marshall used to have the Suhr OD Mod. Same thing that Doug Aldrich had. I hated it. It was kind of cool, but I couldn't stand that half wah sound. It is hard to describe, but I couldn't stand it. When I sent it to Scott to get modded, he couldn't stand the tone either. The only reason why Al would switch would be because of the money!

holllld the phone here...
this OD mod thing you guys are talkin' about....I thought you meant that he's just with suhr as far as guitars..which is why I asked (and was wondering what the big deal was) what kinda make his previous guitar was..I didn't think anything of it...
but now you're tellin' me he's using suhr AMPS too??? I didn't even know they made amps!
this blows...poor scott...

Yeah, they make amps. And sweet freakin' awesome amps they are.
Suhr OD 100. Say No More. 'cept Cost too much.
One of the best amps I've ever played.Really a fine piece of gear.
But the best "Marshall" type amp by far is definetly the Splawn.
The Suhr OD 100 that I played had 5881's but I hear they may have an EL34 version now.
If you ever get a chance to play one of these , I would highly recommend it.
