Yeah, I was told mine was the last Mansel with the strat headstock. Fender sucks,, I mean c'mon its 50 years, let it go...LOL..
I got alot of pics of my guitar while it was being made, it was cool. I think some are on this forum somewhere. Totally worth the wait, what a great guitar,.

50 years is a long time. That would mean that they would have to go after Warmoth and other guitar builders. Oh well. Craig, you might have a collectors item! LOL Mine will be the first of the new headstock. Scott said there will be some kind of certificate with mine because of the headstock change.

No they won't go after Warmoth or some of the other companies because those companies PAY for the right to use that Fender design. Why do you think Warmoth necks cost so much,,, its a joke. I can have private builders make me necks for 1/3 of the price of a Warmoth strat headstock. They need to mark it up to cover that fee they pay Fender.

I didn't think about that. What I don't get is, if the design is slightly different, how can anyone get in trouble? For example, Peavey copied Ernie Ball Music Man's EVH guitar with the Wolfgang. Same design, just rounded the edges a little more, and changed the headstock slightly. Did Peavey have to pay Ernie Ball? I thought the look of your Mansel headstock was a slightly different take on the Fender headstock? Do you have a good picture of your Mansel headstock?

EVH owned the rights to the design of the Ernie Ball design so he was able to take it to any manufacturer.
My understanding from a builder I'm working with is it has to be a 25% change in overall design in order to not violate the copyright.

Oh, I understand. I really don't mind it. I think that the Mansel design is going to be really cool. I am looking forward to it more than the strat headstock!
