Decided to create a "guestbook" for my house. Whenever friends come over I'm going to have them sign it - once it fills up I will seal it and play it! It's an alder Pacer body from www.southeastguitars.com. The neck is a 1-piece maple strat variety from Warmoth. Still in process, and probably won't do any of the electronic work until the body is sealed.

Something else I did recently...I have a practically new Mesa Boogie oversized cab that I just hated...poor judgement - thought it would be good for my rectifier - wrong. Tried to sell it 3 times on Ebay - gave up after 2 non-paying bidders and a no-sale. Called Scott and he advised me to mod it - advised me on speakers to replace 2 of the stock Vintage 30's (Eminence Man O Wars) and gave me some hints on how to foam the interior to tighten up that loose bottom end...it's amazing - this cab now holds its own with my Splawn and H & K cabs! Interior (foam blocks): Inside of back panel (Auralex panels):

Wow, thats sweet, so thats why my Splawn cab sounds so much better than my Marshalls? I never took the back off to see the way the foam is in there.

Scott didn't give me any specific direction other than allowing me to explain what I thought I would do and hinting that I was on the right track. So whether these pics are representative of his cabs I have no idea. He has said recently that he stopped using foam in his cabs because he felt that the bottom end was just too tight in them.
For this oversized monster, though, some foam and the speakers were exactly what was needed - to my ears, at least.
