There are several guys modding pedals these days. Besides Keeley, Analogman is really good too. I have about a dozen pedals but I do the work myself so I haven't sent any off. What tone are you looking for?

I have been on this strange pedal kick for a few months and bought five or six lately but now that the Quick Rod is on the way, I don't think I'll need any distortion pedals either. I may still use my old tube screamer on the clean channel though.

I use the Keely DS-1 Ultra in front of my Bogner Shiva. Great results. I set the level up just a bit, 1 oclock, drop back the distortion level to 10-11, Tone about 10, Just adds punch and drive to the shiva. Waiting on my Quick Rod, Will update what it does when I get it...

Have used an Analog Man Tubescreamer with the QR, but have been much happier with the amp by itself.

I had Keeley mod my Vox V847 wah. It's not a distortion but he did a great job with it. Added true bypass, LED, DC jack, replaced inductors, vocal/gain/bass mod switchable with toggles and pots. I didn't like the new sound at first but I opened it up and adjusted a few things and now its just amazing. Shawnee...do you know how to mod wahs? I just did a few things to my old CryBaby because I want to learn to build my own pedals but something went wrong . It seems like the pot doesn't change out of the bass frequency when you rock the wah Any experience?

If you are getting some kind of change in tone when you rock the pedal- The the bar with the teeth on it connected to the pedal part itself only moves the pot so far when you rock the pedal all the way back and all the way forward. The pot can actually turn quite a bit more than what is possible with the pedal. You may just turn the pot a little one way or another and reposition the bar on it. As long as the pot is not maxed out while you still have some movement left in the pedal, you can position it where ever it sounds best to you. Does that make sense? If that's not it- It's going to be difficult to pin down the problem without seeing it.

That's what I originally thought was the problem. I guess it must be an electrical problem or the pot is bad. I tried real hard not to overheat anything while slodering so I can't imagine frying it. Its my first time doing that mod so who knows what I did wrong. I guess I need to take it to a tech if they are willling to try. Well if anything, I sanded it down and repainted it with some real cool designs so at least it looks good!
