Ok here's a guy that is recording James Labrie's new album. Scroll down to "Video" and watch them all but watch one in particular "Understand" solo take. You talk about Tone, phrasing, this guy is the whole enchilada. WOW!!! www.marcosfogli.com/multimedia.html

That guys awesome. Love it,, and hes more than a little influenced by Petrucci so it seems like a good fit for LaBrie.

I think Petrucci was similarly tasty on the first few albums.. but then he got kinda out there. What could be tastier than the "Under a Glass Moon" solo,,!! awesome.

I agree on the first few albums..I don't think he ever had better tone than his triaxis/ibanez days...and his playing was VERY palatable... UaGM is one of my favorites from that era of DT

UaGM is one of my favorites from that era of DT YOu know I've never been a fan of the Triaxis or the ADA MP1. I never got into the whole rack thing. Even in the 80's heyday I was still plugging straight into a marshall and cranking up. Guess it just wasn't and isn't my thing.

I still own my ADA MP-1. There was a time when I really thought I needed the rack setup. Somewhere along the line my playing changed and my tastes changed. I always loved the JCM 800's and cranked MArshalls but it never worked for until later. Now I just use basically one sound with different textures and roll the voulme off for alot of stuff.. or hit the clean channel. As long as I got a lead boost I'm good.

Got it from a guy for really cheap. It's got the ADA microtube power amp also. I'm going to sell it on Ebay. I've honestly used it one time.

PIcked it up in mint condition for $500. Guy needed a down payment on a motorcycle. It's one of the early ones to. Hahahaha!!!!
