yeah my band is opening for his band on May 6........... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH!!! Sorry, I just think its hilarious because you all know how I feel about hair metal . I was going to decline because I don't think the crowd will even like us but my bassist persuaded me that we should take it. I have noticed that my band, as odd as it maybe, is genrally accepted and well liked among many genres. We never fit in to most shows but are always well received and given our props by the bands and crowd. Emo, Punk, Classic Rock, Heavy/Metal, Rock, Blues, Rockabilly....all those crowds really dig us....... ...except the hair band guys. ;D I don't know, I get the feeling that they are judging us and not being open-minded. So maybe I will have the band wear spandex and huge hair wigs! What do ya think, won't go over too well? It might be offensive rather than funny?! I'm sure his band doesn't look like that anymore but I thought it would be funny. Craig...any experience playing with these guys? I thought I have heard that he was a real jerk but that may have been someone else.

I've heard some bad stories about Tracii, but the 4-5 times I met him he was really cool. Aside from stealing my Quiot Riot gig I like him,, LMAO..
I opened up for him when LA Guns had Ralph from Atomic Punks singing,, in Cleveland about 10 years ago. Great band and hes actually a good player. It should be fun.

Didn't he start off with GNR and then got booted? I don't know the story. So what you're saying is that I should start playing my guitar again so I don't look like a hack when I get up there. I haven't touched my guitar in 2 weeks since I have moved into my new place!!

Well, you and I have a different outlook on that sort of thing,, but yeah if it were me I'd be hitting the chops hard. I don't like to be outdone by anyone national or otherwise at a show. But thats just me,, its that 80's competitive mindset thats hard to get away from, ...ask shreder and TJ they know what I mean.. hee hee. ... example "Did you see Tracii wailin up there?... "yeah he was cool, but the dude in the opener ripped his head off" ..those kind of comments go a long way.

For shame Don!! For shame. I think I would kill someone or something if I didn't play for two weeks. I've got my Fernandes travel guitar I take when I go on vacations so I can keep the chops up. Those things are so cool. Wife hates it but oh well. Cool on the gig. Smoke those sucka's and make em work hard to follow you guys.

Looking off the side of the stage and seeing Scotti Hill and Snake Sabo from Skid Row shaking their heads in disbelief and then scrutinizing my rig afterwards and looking for some magic pedal was priceless. When I told them I was running dry they both were like F#$CK! Scotti was a super cool dude and having seen them when I was in high-school and then having him treat me like an equal playing together.. was something I'll always be grateful for. Times like that I realize it was worth the work and time spent.

Not many people get the good tone thing but you're one that does. Snake Sabo has never had good tone IMO. I've never listened to Scotti Hill so I can't say anything about his. I'm sure they were both thinking "Why don't we sound like that?"

I think Scotti's a really good player. His phasing and vibrato are great. His sound wasn't the best. I almost has Bill Leverty from Friehouse sold on a Quick Rod,, he actually knows Scott. But next time I saw them hes was playing though a bunch of Framus'.. yuck. Some people get it and some people don;t.

I would like to get there are just tear it up but as I have said, my chops are way weak these days because I haven't had the time to play much. I think the crowd will mostly be surprised that they put a band like ours on the bill with his. I guess I'll haveto win 'em over with my songwriting and musical style rather than my chops. LOL
