This seems to come in spirts but lately again I see many van halen bootlegs amoung others on ebay. There is some dude that has a few of the live CD's that I myself have and he is getting bidding up to $70 a pop for them at times. He is making a S**t load of $ and it pisses me off cause I used to bootleg myself but all my accounts got suspended. I can't believe people would pay that much for burnt copies of shows recorded with a pocket recorder and not be furious. At times I got $15 to $20 a disc and I thought that was a lot. I will never understand ebay's vero system which is supposed to monitor for unauthorized material being sold yet people get away with it for a long time without getting caught. There was a time a while ago where they would cancel auctions of VH replica guitars and lately I have seen tons of them back on ebay.. I just don't get it?  ? |

I have to admit I did this for over a year back in about '99 or so. I made a boatload of money too.. Most of whats on the internet I probably circulated.. all the stuff on vhboots.com I got all that stuff.
Its risky.. I would never do it now, but it was fun and after I lost my ebay account I figured why push my luck.
Vom may remember vanhalenlive.com that was me.. I also was one of the original DLR ARMY guys before they started getting weird.

i've got tons of bootleg dvds that aren't widely circulated...i mean 4 or 5 100 spindles worth of boot DVDs that i haven't even watched yet and i'm downloading like another 4 DVDS right now...like maiden mexico 1992...i've seen many people sell that stuff on ebay but i think people are getting wiser and wiser and not buying as much now that there's technology like torrents...

We have something in common.. for once...
I was bootlegging on ebay for 5 years solid and made some nice cash but never sold discs for $50 +.... I know a guy who was making over $2000 a week bootlegging but he sold OOP videos not bootlegs. He is still doing it if I remember correctly. The only risk is getting suspended and loosing your account but its not like you will go to jail..although they claim.... I just recently heard of that torrents thing but have not messed with it...

Mr Vom, Mabye we could swap a few??? i've got tons...send me a PM of what you have an what you like and we'll work something out...i basically have every VH boot DVD if you're interested in that...i had a complete list but my computer crashed and i lost that file...but let me know what you like... downloading some maiden and extreme right...i probably download 8 DVDS a week or so... |

oh, so it's kinda like napster? sorta...it's a new file sharing system where instead of downloading a whole file from just 1 person you download bits and pieces of that file from many people.... |

Not really sure what I want? I got into the whole bootleg thing to make extra money. I don't watch but once in a blue moon but haven't gotten any new stuff for a while. I will try to tag up with you over the weekend. I have a few extreme shows.. Used to sell them as well. The rarest VH I have is 1988 MOR tour filmed in Miami.
