last night at practice....BUT, I will reserve judgement until I put it through the splawn...long story short, ended up at a sh!tty practice space (short notice) and I had to play through a Kustom amp..that's right...with a K...worst amp EVER!!!
i'm a little pissed off at my EBMM...obviously these things are made for only one type of pickup..dimarzio....the pickup cavity was too shallow to fit the beefier rio grandes in there..so my tech buddy had to remove some wood...and I still think they're al ittle too high..but I was meaning to raise the action anyway....too low to the fretboard...thus, bad harmonics, bad resonation, more opportunity for the dreaded 'fart out'...
anywho, we shall see..IF I like the sound then I;'ll be h appy...IF I don't, then I think this might very well be my last EBMM

I'm really curious to get your opinion on the new p/ups. The main reason being....that I remember you liking the PRS HFS. And since that's my most favoritest bridge pickup, I'm thinkin' we may share similar tastes in pickups......know whatta' mean? So if you like it alot, I may have to stick one in something and check it out.

I got to put it through the paces last night a little bit...through my quick rod...dude, I LOVE the BBQ!!! it's nasty!! it's smoother than my JB and it's chunky as hell! but not mushy!
as far as the texas in the neck..well, I'm not too hot on that..I'm VERY picky about neck pickups beleive it or not..maybe evne more so than bridge pickups, if that's at all possible..LOL...
anywho, I'm gonna do some chunka chunka drop D clips when I have time after my gig....i'm considering putting one in my lynch

Thanks for the info. With that review, I may have to get one. Yeah, I'm really only interested in the bridge pickup. I'm pretty much set as far as the neck goes.

How does the BBQ (bridge) compare to say the JB? the attack's similar...both pretty percussive..I find the BBQ to be chunkier and has smoother mids....
