ralph posted this around 2003, i think, on vhlinks.com
he was waiting in line at staples to pay for something,minding his own business just looking around..he glanced over at the line next to him and there's EVH waiting to pay for some computer paper...(that's so great!)...
so he gets out of line and approaches ed...
ralph: hi ed, my name's ralph, i just wanted to say that i'm a huge fan of yours...i'm actually in a tribute band called the atomic punks that plays only old van halen
ed: yeah, i've heard of you guys...you guys are pretty good
ralph: thanks very much...well just wanted to say that...
so he gets back in line...
as he's walking to his car he hears "so, this tribute thing, is that all you do?"
he turns around and it's ed again...he responds, "well, i've been in some other bands, like l.a. guns, i write a little, etc..."
ed seemed impressed but said good-bye...
pretty cool story...that guy should be in van halen...
