I just watched the G3 concert with Yngwie/Satch/Vai...Yngwie is still one of my favorite guitar players even though I don't play even remotely like him and he is a big (no FAT) classless fellow...a number of times during the concert Satriani and Vai just look over at him thrashing away at those diminished arps and pedal tone licks and just kind of looks like they are embarassed for him...Satriani and Vai seem to be pretty level headed guys. I just bought that a few weeks ago and I noticed the same thing. Vai and Satch just look over at him one in a while with the "what the F**K are you doing?" look. Pretty sad, actually. His solo songs are really amazing though. I love the classic metal stuff and he is incredible at it but......MAn is he a WANKER!! I mean, someone get that guy a mirror and let him know he's gonna rip his spandex if his bubbly butt keeps doing those kicks . It is aggravating whatching him showboating and trying to outdo Vai and Satch, which you just can't do IMO. BTW, did you noticed Satch's tone with those Peavy's? It killed! I think there was something backstage or some hidden secret there. Probably was run through Pro Tools Amp Farm during editing or something, thats what it sounded like. Oh and Vai pisses me off. Nobody should be that good and make it look so darn effortless. I haven't seen the DVD, but I noticed the same thing when I saw them in Phoenix. Yngwie showboating while Satch and Via looked on in amusement (embarrassment?). Actually, I can't believe he even agreed to the tour, knowing that he would have to play first each night.

Maybe that's why that album has stuck with me like it has. I dunno.

I saw Yngwie with Alcatrazz. They opened for Night Ranger way back. He flat out rocked. Their cover of "since youi've been gone" was great!

I love Alcatrazz with Yngwie.I especially liked his cleaner tone back then.(I love his tone now, just not as much as the Alcatrazz/Rising Force type). I remember hearing a cassette a buddy of mine brought back from California with Steeler and Alcatrazz on it............ mindblowing to say the least.Must've been around '83 or so.Well, the guitar playing was awesome and unparalled at the time.Steeler actually sucked hind tit but had awesome solo's.I have that on vynyl! I may be in the minority here but I actually love Graham Bonnet, especially with Alcatrazz, Rainbow and Impellitteri.
