I'll pay more attention when I see him on a 'Jenny Craig' video or a 'Subway' 6 grams of fat thingy...I bet if he were skinny he couldn't play worth a dang...like Leslie West I see..so now when you can't pick apart a good player, you gotta attack his physical fitness? lol hey, he has alot more hair than I do...it's just my insecurity kickin in...

I just watched the G3 concert with Yngwie/Satch/Vai...Yngwie is still one of my favorite guitar players even though I don't play even remotely like him and he is a big (no FAT) classless fellow...a number of times during the concert Satriani and Vai just look over at him thrashing away at those diminished arps and pedal tone licks and just kind of looks like they are embarassed for him...Satriani and Vai seem to be pretty level headed guys. I just bought that a few weeks ago and I noticed the same thing. Vai and Satch just look over at him one in a while with the "what the F**K are you doing?" look. Pretty sad, actually. His solo songs are really amazing though. I love the classic metal stuff and he is incredible at it but......MAn is he a WANKER!! I mean, someone get that guy a mirror and let him know he's gonna rip his spandex if his bubbly butt keeps doing those kicks . It is aggravating whatching him showboating and trying to outdo Vai and Satch, which you just can't do IMO. BTW, did you noticed Satch's tone with those Peavy's? It killed! I think there was something backstage or some hidden secret there. Probably was run through Pro Tools Amp Farm during editing or something, thats what it sounded like. Oh and Vai pisses me off. Nobody should be that good and make it look so darn effortless. Whoa, are we talking about the same DVD? I have it too, and Satch's tone is the most fuzzy horrid sound ever. Sounds like a 5150 run through a DOD fuzz or something. And so many effects,, ahhhhh. Its nasty. Love his playing though,, I never was a big Vai fan, great player, but no ballz. Everything sounds like major happy mode noodling.. I'll take Yngwies performances on that video over those 2 any day... even though Yngwie is really sloppy on it hes got the feel and ballz totally...

Vai's was ok but didn't have the 'sac' that Satch had. Petrucci was on that tour andhe just bored the snot out of me.

Don't fear the fuzz my friend....it's warm and safe there...as long as there is note definition the more the better...you crank up a modded Marshall and the overtones and harmonics are pretty much 'fuzz'...and Yngwie was an embarrasing joker in size 52 spandex pants doing embarassing leg kicks in that video...single coil strat through cranked modded Marshalls, sloppy playing, throwing the guitar around his hunch back etc....I think it was setting in the 'comedy' section of the dvd store...

I thought Satch's tone was ballz to the wall in that DVD (Dallas, Texas). I liked the slight fuzz that he had going on but as I said, I think there was a little Pro Tolls magic at play in the editing. Vai has a very smooth tone which is not my bag but it suits his style.Yngwie did some awesome stuff but its too hard to take him seroiusly because he's such an arrogant wanker who thinks he's a classical composer. Yngwie Sebastian Amadeus Wankenstien!

There's bad fuzz and good and that's the best I've heard.

I really like his first album...Rising Force?? and after that it was pretty much the same stuff...he has gained a ton (no pun intended) of weight...he is a really angry guy...seems he's always pissed off...one of those mad at the world guys..I can only do a little neo-classical..

Hopefully no singing because I could imagine that adding to the cheese factor.

LOL.... Ahhhhh I'm bored today, I'm gonna rip some Yngwie out. The guy's a great player but he should show a little emotion while plaing that stuff, He looks like He's bored.
