Oh man, I just sat through this 30 minutes Japanese TV show with 2 of my favorite all-time players, Friedman and Gilbert,, oh this is one seriously funny and entertaining video,, watch the whole thing though cause its awsome toward the end too.. www.youtube.com/watch.php?v=5l-Z4yj6Kis&search=paul%20gilbert

I've seen that video....it's definetly cool....both animals!!! I'm not usually a big fan of gilbert's tone, but his skill is undeniable..
what's equally impressive is that they both have a working knowlege of japanese! no small feat =D

give the guy more credit,, pick up one of his solo albums or the blues record he did with his Uncle Jimmy,, the guys way beyond just acrobatics. Hes got tons of feel and song-skills too. Still one of my favs all all time,, #3 on my list. EVH, Lynch, Gilbert.

Very cool videos. Did you guys notice that vai snapped a string at the worst possible moment? I'm guessing he might have been a little more impressive if he had'nt been nursing an out of tune guitar. I think he HAD to go for the vibrato at least long enough to get his bearing.
