Hey, If any one wants to compare a Splawn QuickRod clip to some Bogner Ecstacy clips, there are some clips on MySpace that I've done in support of a singer friend of mine. THe first clip "Am I alone", is recorded with a QuickRod. It's more of a quick demo recording, but the tone of the amp is pretty accurate. They buried the guitar solo in the mix, damndamn them all! The next 3 songs are all recorded with a Bogner Ecstacy. The song "I Stay Empty" is probably the best to start with. Some notes about the recordings. The Bogner is double tracked, and I was running a treble booster in front of the amp, and cranking the crrap out of it through a THD Hotplate with the high and low settings on. THe Basic Bogner sound is there, but it's been toyed with. THe Quickrod was recorded in one take, plugged straight in, no toys to mess with it. I have a Marshall cab with Vintage 30's and Greenbacks in an X pattern. We had an Sm57 on a 30, and some ancient old ribbon mike on a Greeny. It's a way sloppier and lower fidelity recording than the Bogner recordings, but I still love the amp sound! The singer loves the nuts out of the QuickRod! I'm glad I sold the Bogner to get it! profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=65102474
