yeah, for that extra push over the cliff
well, why don't you just make ten louder??
well, these go to 11
LOL
~~and it's funny, cause the other guitar player in my band never saw that movie until me and the bass player kept talkin' about it all the time..so he bought it and watched it...after that he noticed that the numbers on his amp go to 12!!
lmao

Hi guys. I'm new to the forum. I am looking for an amp and I have been doing a lot of research. The name Splawn keeps coming up so I thought I would join the forum and check them out. I am looking for an amp that can give me a fat brown sound, but also give me the ability to turn up the overdrive and let the power chords fly...
This sound clip is tight! I love the way the bottom end holds together. Great tone. Great playing as well Scottdh.
I was wondering, from your posts I gather that your QR is one of the older models without the "3 way overdrive switch". I'm I right? Also, what kind of tubes are in your QR? KT88's or the EL34's?
Thanks

not to speak for scott
but the QR's come with the EL34's and the pro mods have the KT88's =)

Thanks for the reply man. I was just looking at that in the main website.
Well those EL34's sound great then. Would it be safe to assume that the Pro Stock amp with EL34's is the same amp as the QR, minus the clean channel, and has the same tone as the QR?

I talked to Scott the other day and he told me that the Heyboer's were the iceing on the cake as far as tone. He said that really made the difference in a positive way!

Sorry, been away for a bit - Thanks for the props, frets. Yes, my QR has the 2 input jacks - Low & High (Gears 1 & 2). It's actually the first one Scott built with the separate EQ's for OD & Clean. Some of the printing on the faceplate is even different from the production models. As Shreder noted, my QR has EL-34 power tubes and the Heyboer transformers.
