Finally found a Splawn Modded Marshall 1987x

Should be here on Thursday. It has EL34's but I am thinking about putting some KT88's in it as I want the biggest tone available out of this amp.

Can somone fill me in on the Splawn mod? Are ALL Marshall mods the same? Does Scott do the same thing to every amp? They should all sound about the same right? Except for what kind of tubes are installed.

Can's wait to get amp broke in! Deos anyone have any Splawn Modded Marshall clips? I looked in that section of the forum and only found one clip.

From the description on the Splawn website, ALL modded Marshall should sound the same, except for the power tubes used. So, a 1987x, 1959, JCM800 with the Splawn mod should have the same gain structure, and tone.

I ordered EL34 tubes for my modded Plexi, because I like the vintage Marshall grind EL34's provide. But the 1059 SLP is so huge sounding anyway. Could be the 50 watter could use the extra help 6550's provide.

I also asked about sound clips, to no avail!
