One of my Splawn modded Marshalls has Scott's signature and the date written in Sharpie on the chassis behind the preamp tubes. Is that fairly common and what is it meant to signify? Back in 03 was he doing all of the builds personally or is it like a Jim Marshall thing where he inspects certain ones for quality control and signs it? Anyone know?

no scott signed it, he still signs the new Splawn models aswell and does all the electronics work himself.. I know he has someone else do do the Headboxes and Cabs, mine has passages from the bible written inside the chassis.

mine has passages from the bible written inside the chassis. Does he always do that? I should check to see if I have bible passages in my Pro Mod. If I order another one can I request a specific passage? ;D

Yes he does that to all of them, Romans 10:13. I think the guys that build the headboxes also put a passage on the wood before applying the Tolex.

Mine 2nd Quick Rod says "custom built for 'Dirrty Craig' Smith by Scott Splawn" on the back panel.

If I remember correctly, its under the chassis. You may not be able to just look in and see it without removing the chassis.

DD, If you order a new one, what would your specific passage be? "Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home." - Tecumseh, ShawneeI am not Catholic so unless Scott put that on there I wouldn't want one.
