The Bradshaw Crunch mod is one of the mods that John developed and still uses. It is a great rhythm tone (Eddie uses/used one of these live for years), and you can do leads with it, but I have punched it up with a fulldrive 2 (or whatever overdrive you have), and it gives it that extra edge. The crunch mod cleans up nicely with a volume roll off on the guitar too. I prefer Johns "Lead Mod" though; definitely no overdrive pedal needed with that one. The crunch mod is cheaper to have done, as I don't think he adds an extra tube like he does with the lead mod. Cameron mods? Not a lot of experience with those. I hear they are great, but I also hear that the guy is hard to get in touch with, and I am a freak about someone taking my money and my amp and then just getting it back to me whenever; for that reason alone I wouldn't use him. If you ever see any Tim Caswell modded heads out there on EBay or whatever, snag one. I rented one from this amp place down in LA a long time ago, and it was smokin'!!! I never was able to get in touch with Tim to mod one for me, as he was involved with Soldano at that point. Rumour has it that Slash actually used a Caswell modded Marshall JCM800 to record Appetite, not a Jubilee as is widely reported these days. Come to think of it, that amp was rented too. Hmm.......... Stay away from Torres modded amps; expensive, noisy crap. Paid him $500 for the priviledge of ruining one of my Marshalls; what a joke. Speaking of Caswell...I've heard some of his amps have a good pedigree... www.guitardigest.com/slash.pdfIn fact, I think he's got a web page out there somewhere and is still doing the slash/lynch mod....whatever! ;D Found the link... caswellamps.studioelectronics.com/

Yeah, I just did some research too; Slash used the amp that SIR rented to him. Caswell's #39 Modded Marshall. It is what his new motorized midi amp is based on.

I wanted the amp to have the voicing of the jtm 45 ( angus tone ) which he nailed dead on for me. See to me thats is good tone, natural not over the top. I love that pure tone. to each his own.

never had one, played one and liked it. Not exactly the tone i was looking for, but if that was my only amp, i could easily live with it. My current amp is exactly what i wanted. no offense to the QR
