Hey guys. Many weeks ago I posted a kind of dirty Photoshop mock up of how I wanted my Competition to look:  Well, look what finally arrived from North Carolina last Friday afternoon:  Not bad, eh? I am so happy. Some of you might remember my first Comp (an eBay sale) was beaten up by FedEx and I never got to play it. I am finally in the family.  I'll do a little review after some honeymoon has worn off, especially as it seems hardly anybody owns Comps so there's very little user feedback on them. Like a big dork I recorded everything, too -- the box arriving, tearing it open, getting the amp up and running -- so there'll be a video at some point, too, if I review the footage and find I don't come off like a ween. Couple more pics. The color is really hard to nail accurately with a digicam it seems, but this is close. Most pics make it look a sort of yellowy army brown, but it's really duller, like iced coffee or of course cocoa powder.   That last one has a couple of my favorite guitars in it for your Mansel snobs to disapprove of.  |

Cocoa colored head
Red speaker cab
and a Purple cable...
I'm sure you could use the, "Honey, my rig doesn't match" to score a new cocoa 2x12... ;D
Anyway, I know it sounds phenominal! Congrats on the new gear.

only thing is..that ibanez with the chick on it is a little disturbing =) I hope that model was 'of age'..lol

Thanks fellas. I am a proud daddy. Manoopee: of course! I grew up in the 80s. Nothing should match! Ideally tolex would be available in Generra Hypercolor. Shreder: I had no idea Vlad had the same options on a QR. I sure would have like to have seen a picture when I was trying to figure out if it would look okay, rather than d!cking about in Photoshop! And there was me thinking I was the only one to come up with that combination. People often get a bit worried about that guitar. I designed and built it, and I promise she's about 23 in that pic. I will swear so in front of any judge! Kyoko Fukada, model/actress. She's on the neckplate, too:  Glad I'm not the only Jem man, too. |

Oh yeah, Hypersonic's sort of cocoa/cane 800 style? That's the first place I ever saw this color tolex and I loved it. But I knew, whatever color I got, it had to be abomo-style. DC: No rice.* How many endangered tigers had to die for yours?  * I got a kamikaze headband and a set of comically oversized front teeth. |
