Dude I dig the V!! I always wanted one but I wasn't sure if I could deal with the shape. I want the black with white pickguard but yours looks damn nice! Is the sound brighter than a tele or strat of is it closer to an LP? Only thing its missing is some fancy-schmancy fret inlay

Thanks Hacksaw, I appreciate it man!!! DonaldDemon, The shape grew on me faster than I thought it would...the upper fret access is crazy easy. That actually took me a bit to get used to, I kept overshooting notes in the upper register for a few days. As for the tone, it falls right in between a strat and a LP. My Lester is very muscular sounding, the V is sharper, with a woodier tone...if that makes any sense. I'm going to try a BBQ in the bridge because I'm used to that "20 pound ham hitting the floor kind of thud" the Lester has on the low end. The V doesn't have that, but it is super crunchy with tons of resonance and sustain. If the BBQ doesn't do it, I've got a few other p'ups laying around that I'll give a go. The thing about playing a V while sitting down is that you have to put your leg in the notch of the guitar and hold it like a classical guitar...works like a champ!!!

Awesome, thanks for the info craggin. I notice too that if you play a LP for most of the time its hard to switch because nothing has that beefy low end chunk that a LP gives! When I bought my Strat I loved the clean tones but it took me a while to get used to the the thinner distorted sounds.

Yeah it was Chuck Wright on Bass, not sure about the drummer. I saw them Friday. It was the third time I got to see this band, but first time with Chuck on bass. I remember the Joe Perry look-a-like from the Seahags if any of you guys follow some obscure 80's crap..
Got a chance to talk to Erik for quite a while. He was using a Boss tuner and Boss chorus pedal and ran the whole night on 3rd gear. He only used the chorus on some clean parts and all he had on stage was the Quick Rod footswitch, stock like all of ours..
He was pretty cool, definitely not the nicest guy, but Pearcy was really cool. After the show they had an after-hours party inside the Howard Johnsons. It was me and a bunch of girls I was with and the guys in Bang Tango and Pretty Boy Floyd among numerous others.. I played with the old rhythm player in Bang Tango so I kinda knew Joe the singer through association.. he was so wasted and got up and did a few tunes with his cover band that was playing in the bar.. They were doing Dancin' with myself by Billy Idol.. and he just pukes on stage... it was HILARIOUS. So the band stops and everybodys laughing and he just says,, hey! I threw-up!... bam, back into the song.. what a night... LMAO..
I got pics,, let me upload them..
