Nice man! Glad the gig went well. Did you get to hang out and talk tone with Erik?

Shreder...it's an Earcandy Buzzbomb...not the prettiest cab in the world, but it sounds very good. I had it sitting on a cab that was at the club (an empty bass cab) so that I could get it up off the floor and use it as my monitor...that way I could have more emphasis on the vocals in the stage monitor. (I usually tell the sound guy to not run my guitar through my monitors...)
Craig...unfortunately, no. I really wanted to, but someone else had his ear bent pretty hard and it was getting super late...plus I knew my 9 month old son was going to be up in a few hours LOL!!! (My wife was at the gig and she had to get up for a TV show she was shooting at 8:00 a.m., which meant I couldn't sleep in.)
Vom, let me just say how impressed I was with Stephen's voice. On the way to the gig, I heard his acoustical version of "Back for More" on Sirius...which was less than stellar, so I wasn't expecting much. He came out and just slayed us!!!
Craig, I'd be really interested in hearing your thoughts when you see him in a few weeks. Let me just say that Erik and Frankie sound great together, their tone and generousity with each other's playing is fantastic. The two Splawns just sounded sooooooooooooooo tight and nasty!! Plus, you probably already know his band's lineup...but I was surprised to see who he had on bass and drums!!!
I've decided to put a BBQ in the bridge of the V, the Custom 5 is just a little too lacking for my taste. I also need a longer strap...the V really wants to hang lower and I just couldn't get comfortable with it sitting that high. (My Les Paul hangs about 6 inches lower than that guitar.) The V plays easier than I thought it would, and it weighs in at 7lbs., which is also about 2 1/2 lbs lighter than my LP. The neck has a '59 in it, and that sounds great...which surprised me because I generally don't care for that pickup.
If the BBQ doesn't work, I'll pull the WCR Fillmore from my PRS Singlecut and see how that sounds...but something tells me I'll dig the Rio.

Here's another pic, you can barely see Erik in the background...but let me tell you, he's an intimidating looking fella!! ;D My wife took the pics...unfortunately, the shots she took of the amps didn't come out.

I do hear good things about those buzzbombs!!
what didn't you like about the C5?
I just put a duncan custom custom in my ESP mirage last night..didn't really get to crank it much though..but so far I'm liking it..once I get more time with it I'll make some comments

The fiddle is on the bright side, so I'm thinking that the BBQ would pair up really well with it. As for the Custom/Custom...I had one of those and still regret selling it. The Buzzbomb is a great cab for a 2x12...my only complaint is that it is VERY in your face, the attack seems like it is exponentially greater than what the amp is putting out. In other words, it isn't a very "organic" sounding cab...it is more "hi-fi" in that it doesn't color your sound at all. Being that it is front loaded, it disperses your tone very evenly. I've got a V30 and a Man-O-War in there...I like the Man-O-War better. As you can see, it is ported...but not as much as say a Genz-Benz. I'll keep it until I finally break down and get a Splawn 4x12 because truthfully, it sounds better than my other 4x12's. (Marshall and 2 Mesa's...actually, they're not all my cabs...but they're in my house right now. ;D )

I had a gflex...those ports are TOOO much!! lol...i'm not overly crazy about vintage 30's, although alotta dudes swear by them..they're not for me

crag, who does he have on bass and drums....juan croucier on bass? ;D...... Not quite ;D ...but a fellow you may have heard in Quiet Riot. (Chuck Wright) On drums, I think I saw Scott Coogan (Brides of Destruction). Stephen put together one heck of an ensemble!!!
