just sealed the deal on a used splawn cab(the guy actually posted it on here as part of a package-quick rod,cab,splawn/mcnaught guitar) it has the x pattern of MOW/GOVS i hope i dig them. it will hopefully brighten up my sound a bit going from my mesa traditional cab to this. $600 shipped was to good of a deal to pass up!! the pictures look great and the guy seems pretty cool so i went for it and should have it by the end of this week.how will it compare tonally to my mesa cab with the v30s?? i am keeping my mesa until i can unload it so i will be running both till then...i can hear my neighbors cringing right now!! HA HA HA

Good move! ya... it will sound very balanced, it will show the mesa traditional cab faults.. I had one of those with a dual rec. after the splawn.. I dont miss the head or the cab. :-) I ebayed off the cab and head..
I suspect you wont miss that mesa cab after getting the splawn :-) enjoy loudly!

i just got my splawn 4x12 and the MOW/GOV combo is AWESOME!! i am playing through my splawn and my mesa cab at the same time and my take is the following: 1- the mesa cab is a noticeable amount louder than the splawn cab(it think it is the v30s are just a very loud speaker) 2-build construction on the splawn is TOP NOTCH!! the mesa cab is built well also though(the mesa is actually a little bigger) 3- the splawn cab is more musical sounding, a bit warmer and projects its sound a bit better, where as the mesa (v30s) is a little more aggressive and has more high end bite to it. all in all as soon as my mesa cab sells i will be buying another splawn cab (although the mix of the two is REALLY sounding good to me right now!! with the warmth and depth of the splawn cab and the edge and bite..eventhough a bit harsh and muddy..of the mesa cab) but i think hearing two of the splawn cabs at the same time will make me even happier!! LATER!!
