As much as I like the RI GBs in my Mojo 4X12, I've found speakers that are even better. I got 4 Scumbacks (2-H55 & 2-H75 30 watts) on TGP and installed in the X-pattern. Well broken in already. These speakers absolutely rock with the QR. What Motrock and Darkburst have already stated, I can echo. The H55s provide such a good clear low end that is never muddy. Now matched with the H75s the highs are equally clear and never ice picky. The QR is such an awesome sounding amp with just about any speaker, but the Scumbacks really make it shine.

That's why when I saw them on TGP and he was willing to separate them from the /13 cab, I jumped on it. Super open rawness to them, along with great string definition.

Awesome dude! I was jamming with mine today. You just wait, the more playing time you have on them, the better they are going to sound! I have had my H75/H55 30 watters since the summer, and they keep getting better. 3D and open rawness. Probably the best purchase the I have made next to the Quick Rod and my Mansel!

TGP = The Gear Page. Another gear forum. www.thegearpage.net/board/Motrock, the guy I got the Scumbacks from said they were on tour with McCartney last year in a /13 cabinet for Brian Ray, so they are well broken in already. I still can't believe the difference. From Govs to the GBs was a good change, but the GBs to the H55s/H75s is really big and good.

I went from reissue G12H30s and the H75/H55 blows them out of the water! And your right, the Quick Rod and these speakers were made for eachother. You should hear the H75-HPs that I have in my Splawn cab. Talk about a great high wattage speaker. These things are nice and loud!

So is the H75 brighter than the RI greenback? Does it still retain the crunch of the greenies?

So is the H75 brighter than the RI greenback? Does it still retain the crunch of the greenies? The H75s not bright like the celestions. The highs are really smooth. You get great crunch from them. Not as much as the greenies. But Scumback does make an M75 speaker which is basically a cloned greenback.........yet the highs on these speakers are also a lot smoother than the reissue greenbacks!

Nearly a year later and I still love the QR and the Scumbacks. I swear that I will get a Splawn cab to match my QR. The only question is slant or straight?

Ted is the man! Did he tell you what the difference is between your speakers and the Scumback 65watters? Just curious......since he built both!

sounds like people really like these scumback speakers, im really happy with my V30's at the moment and scumbacks are very expensive.. and i've found a lot of people on this site like different things to me anyway.. so anyone wanna convince me to buy a splawn cab and some scumbacks?

Listen to my clips! LOL I will be post some more clips within a couple of weeks. I like the 65watters alot better than the V30s. A lot smoother on the ears. But I like the 30watt Scumbacks the best because they have a more focused bass response then the high wattage speakers. I am using the H55/H75 x pattern. The H55 is a bass speaker!

I am close to your setup Motrock,, I did the H75 and the M75 HP's I play loud almost all the time.. Jim thought that should do me just fine.. he actually recommended H75s in one cab,, M75's in another 4x12. we will see! :-) should be ANY DAY they show up over at the East Coast. this is almost as fun as waiting on my first Splawn amp.
Why Scumbacks? cause everyone that hears the name, scumback speakers say "what?" cracks me up. lmao..
