Hey guys,
So I recently found out that you can't get the black grill cloth on your cabs anymore, just black basketweave. I just was just wondering if anyone has experience with both and could give me a comparison. I'm most concerned with it sounding much different than before. I've been using Splawn 212s with the old cloth but am getting a new 412 with the new basket weave.
I am getting the 412 to run with the 212, hoping that the 412 will emphasize more of the lows and low mids while my 212 gives me lots of punch and attack. What are you thoughts? Also will they look vastly different? Thanks!

Hi,Windseen,
I went throught that scene before. This I can tell you. There is no difference in the projection & sound.(Grill cloth wise & using the same speakers) as putting the 2x12 & the 4x12 together providing they both are 16 omh cabs ( running full power on both cabs into 8omh) you'll get this big wall of sound. you hear the 2x12 more due to it's on top of the 4x12. I run this set-up myself but I'm using Orange Cabs.( I just love these cabs) Sound thick & huge with tremendous projection. So I won't worry so much on the difference of sound due to different grill cloth.

Thanks man. I appreciate your feedback. I can't wait to run the 6x12 setup!!!
I've also seen people run there 412 on top of the 212. I wonder what's the rational behind that.

Really nothing. unless you are running 2 or 4x15 for more bottom end or the 2x12 fat bottom cabs. this set up was seen in the mid 90's ( ie. Dime bag warhead / George L Benz cab).
