splawn cab question, HELP!!

a local dealer has a splawn 4x12 in stock (used) loaded with v30s.there is no name plate on the thing but they say it is a splawn.how will i know if it is or not?? are there any tell tale signs other than the name plate on the front?? it is only $500 so if it is a splawn cab it is coming home with me that day!! it is straight front,black tolex,salt and pepper colored grill. i am also going to ask them to pull the back to check the speakers out before buying it.i might end up selling the speakers and going with the x-pattern of scumback h-75hp-h-55hp

looks right to me...should have metal handles, a back brace, and jack plate should look something like this www.splawnguitars.com/images/speakerjackplate.jpg

I had the same question some time back. Send and e-mail to Splawn, and ask about their Serial Numbering system. The serial number should appear on the jack-plate in the back.

In my case, it turned out it WAS NOT a Splawn cab. It was on the Craig's List.

Or just call.
