I hate to try to answer for someone else, but I have I pretty good idea of what the deal is. Those clips were recorded (with Celestions) back when those speakers were what was "standard" on his amps, before he went with Eminence. Kind of like how he used to go with JJ EL34's until he found the Mullards.

Along those lines, I have a gig tonight, I'm going to have my sound man do a quick comparison between miking the Gov vs the MOW, see what he hears out front. As it is, I've been miking the Gov, and he preferred the 57 about 4 inches away from the grill rather than right up against it. We'll see tonight, different venue, and I want his comments on the Gov vs MOW. I'll report back if you're interested.

Scott probably has not time! Just think about all the amps he's been building. For him to set up some recording gear and get some stuff done would take some time. Between running his music store, building amps, building a Commando here and there, etc..........I don't see how he has the time for anything!
After all the hard work that Scott puts in to these things, the least I can do it spread the word on the net, making sound clip, etc. If I can get a band together I can really promote it around here!

I don't think the Celestions sound bad at all. I'm getting a great sound through my 1936 2 X 12 Cabs. I'm still going have Scott built me a 4 x 12 Purple cab with a cain grill to match my head.

I agree, the celestions sounds good to me also. Scott started with those speakers! I still use the celestions in the 4x12 cabs a and b's. as I know others here in the forum do as well.
I just havent ordered my splawn cabs yet. I know,!! get off my butt and get them ordered!

I think those celestion clips sounded great, but I went with the eminence as per scott's newest recommendation....just curious what the difference is
