what's up guys yes I am a newb I should be ordering a Splawn 4x12 monday.I am currently using an Engl Powerball.anyone have any experience with this combination.I had just got rid of a Mesa traditional 4x12 V30's and a marshall 1960B loaded with G75T celestions.I was just not digging the cabs with the powerball like I was being robbed of lowend.so I was told Bogner would be the way to go but the Splawn was pretty much the same cab only around $300.00 less.how are the eminence speakers used(gov/manowar) in the splawn X pattern compared to the V30's and G75T's?I feel the V30's are to harsh for my ears and the G75T's just can't handle the lows from the powerball and mids are alittle over scooped.I just couldn't find a happy place.I am looking for an articulate yet brutal sound for death/grind not a big fan of the super wet overdrive sound typicaly used by many in the world of death/grindcore I feel the powerball is plenty capable of doing what I need it to do but just need the right cab/cabs to push the tone..

I got my Splawn and I am very happy with it.my powerball sound nice and full now.the bass is not woofy or boomy and the highs are not annoying like they were when I was running a mesa traditional loaded with V30's.kicks the sh!t out of my Marshall cabs.I can't wait until the eminence speakers break in and really sound the way they are suppose to.my next move will be to get a 2X12 cab.either vht FB/earcandy/G-Flexor a splawn?any info on these cabs will be gladly accepted.I am thinking good tight low end for the 2X12

Glad you like the cab. I have a Marshall and it had 65 watters in it that were waaay to bright. I got a crazy deal on four Celestion G12H30's and I love it now. Scott told me to get those or the Eminence Governors since I don't like a lot of highs and wanted tighter bass. I haven't heard the Eminence speakers yet but I would sure like to.

Don't waste yer hard earned dough on a Bogner cab....Splawn's is at least as good (I think it is much better IMHO) I have the Eminence in an x pattern (governor and man o' war) and they are just breaking in and sounding VERY SWEET! sound reminds me of a combo between a Marshall with greenbacks and a Recto cab with V30s...right in the middle, Bright but not harsh excellent 'tight' bottom end that doesn't mud up (with the QuickRod anyway...) & punchy sweet mids. Oh, the Splawn cabinet is MUCH better made AND it is CHEAPER! a no brainer...IMHO of course LOL!
