If you go with avatar only go with the vintage cab, their standard ones aren't that great. Actually, they're really nice - especially for the money! One of the best cab values on the web. Even moreso if you can pick one up in the scratch-n-dent section or snag an auction on eBay. They're not the 'best' product on the market but they're likely one of the most value-based/reasonable offerings out there: birch ply, t-nuts, rear load, etc. I had mine on the road (buses/trailers - hot/cold, wet/dry, etc) for about 1.5 years solid, it's been on several other artist gigs with me since, and in the studio on a regular basis. Flawless performer - had a minor tolex 'lift' issue on the port after some summer Texas dates, but never an issue with the build/wood/cab/speakers/grill/etc. Was to be a temp cab but it sounded sooo good I just stopped (used primarily with a JTM-45 voiced head). It's actually in the ISO box mic'd up for scratch-tracking/rehearsing as I type this - sounds nice with the Compy. Not 100% the tone I want but that's why there's a 412 in the gear room setup w/some Splawn speakers. The G212H Trad cabs are a good, solid option. Especially with the budget framed above... Well I had one of the G212H and I didn't like it, my splawn cab sounds much better.
