Ok, here are my current total options, which one below would everyone think is best for Rock/Metal/Aggressive music? I plan to make my purchase tomorrow on one of them. Right now I am leaning towards the Genz Benz based on the reviews I have read, however the JCM1960B is a close second IMHO. Thoughts?
Genz Benz 2X12 Ported Guitar Cabinet Marshall AVT412XB Guitar Speaker Cabinet 200 Watts Straight Marshall MG412B Straight Guitar Speaker Cabinet 120 Watt Marshall JCM1960B Cabinet (4x12 Inch, 300 Watts, Straight Front)

;D What's your current budget allow for, if you don't mind us asking? Maybe we could help you have more of a choice. Congrats on the amp. I posted you a reply on the other thread about the amp.

if i am not mistaken the mg cab is very similar to the old valve-state cab which SUCKS!!! i had one and the difference between that and the regular Marshall is HUGE!! i am sure you can find a 1960a/b with the g12t-75s in it used in great shape for what you are looking to spend. i give the following advise out of personal preference and experience in buying gear..don't go cheap just to have something!!! it is better to wait and save your cash and get something really nice, rather than get three different things trying to find a cheaper way out and end up spending more on your trial and error than just getting a winner to start!! i did it with my guitars..i had a cheap ltd horizon, then moved up to a ltd EC-1000 deluxe, then a '68 Les Paul custom re-issue when i should have never got the EC-1000(although it was very nice)it was not what i wanted and i paid $900 for it then sold it 6 months later and lost $250. it is obvious that you want good gear or you would not have a splawn so don't go and get a second rate cab to just have one.but hey the final decision is ultimately yours.

To answer the budget question, it is like this. I have about $300 to spend now. I can get the Genz Benz through American Musical and they let you pay out in 3 payments. So as long as they have the cabinet I decide to go with my budget is actually $900. However to wait would mean 3 months worth of saving, and I really do not want to wait that long before hearing the new head that is on its way ;D ;D I do agree with all of your current posts, it is better to get something good to start with. I just started back playing and my last rig which was quite a while back was a Mesa Quad Preamp, a 295 power amp and 2 really nice Mesa cabs, at least they seemed nice at the time ;D So knowing the above budget info any other recommendations. A Splawn cabinet would be nice, however it would take me 3 months to save for it or at least 2 months give or take a week. I do not mind saving the funds to do so, but if there is a good cabinet I can afford and get now that would be the best of both worlds for me. Listening to the posts so far the MG Marshall is out I guess. Thanks for that info, I already saved some money there. ;D

Tough spot. I know how you feel, I been there before. I would take a look on the used market. You can find an ocassional marshall 4-12 cab for $300.00 to $350.00, from time to time. Also a 1936 2-12 marshall cab goes for that same amount used all day.

I have not heard of Mojo Cabinets? I will do a search to find out how to purchase and check into them. I got your PM Shreder75, thanks for the input.

I also can get the Marshall 1960B straight cabinet from American musical. It is almost $900 but I can pay it out in 3 payments. Anybody tried these?

Hey, I'm brand new here, just bought my ProStock used maybe a month ago. I'm running it right now through a marshall 1960bv, and I think the cab is holding the amp back a bit. Before the splawn I was using an Engl Savage120 through the same cab and I think the cab was holding that amp back as well. IMHO I think the marshall is a thinner sounding cab than say an engl or diezel or mesa cab. I'm trying my best right now to get rid of it and move to something with thicker construction & possibly different speakers. That being said I haven't been able to fully crank the Splawn yet (I live in a military barracks...much like apartment living), but I've gotten it loud enough to determine that the sound just isn't all there. This is of course JMO and I haven't been able to a/b the cab with anything else. Hopefully sometime in the near future I'll be trying it through a set of Vader 2x12's at gig-levels, but thats waiting on two different busy schedules. And if you haven't looked at Vader yet, www.vadercabinets.com. They've got a pretty huge mid-voice to em I think, but sound great. If you've already got 300 bucks man, just wait a little while, save another 200$ and get a better quality cab. If you're running a splawn & searching in the MG-cab sort of price range, you're doing nothing but shooting yourself in the foot. And buying a cab of that quality to hear how the new head sounds is sort of pointless IMHO, as its basically just going to sound like ass through a cab like that.

I got a splawn 2x12 with small blocks speakers, one of the best cabs you can find new for 500$.

Couple more thoughts:
In the short-term, you can get an Avatar G212H Traditional in a closed back with a G12H30/V30 combo for $298 + $34 shipping.
Avatar sells them direct (www.avatarspeakers.com) and also on eBay as an auction so you can get an even better price. Also, look/watch the Scratch-n-Dent section on avatarspeakers.com site for some REALLY smokin' deals.
They're great cabs for the money - birch ply, sturdy and sound good. I have a couple and toured the snot out of one (the G212H Traditional Openback). It's been a flawless performer.
The 1960 cabs will be pretty bright/harsh with the Splawn. That G12T75 speaker is bitey/cuts. If you got that cab you'd probably have to invest in at a minimum 2 Celestion Vintage 30 speakers or Emminence Govenors in an "X" with the G12T75s. Would put you over the budget. They 1960 series cabs pop up regularly for $300-350 used.
Or, best option, save a little more cabbage and spring for a matching Splawn 212 or 412 cab. Scott's prices for those are VERY reasonable - custom options at that price (and for a great product) are hard to find. They're a great value.

If you go with avatar only go with the vintage cab, their standard ones aren't that great.

If you go with avatar only go with the vintage cab, their standard ones aren't that great. Actually, they're really nice - especially for the money! One of the best cab values on the web. Even moreso if you can pick one up in the scratch-n-dent section or snag an auction on eBay. They're not the 'best' product on the market but they're likely one of the most value-based/reasonable offerings out there: birch ply, t-nuts, rear load, etc. I had mine on the road (buses/trailers - hot/cold, wet/dry, etc) for about 1.5 years solid, it's been on several other artist gigs with me since, and in the studio on a regular basis. Flawless performer - had a minor tolex 'lift' issue on the port after some summer Texas dates, but never an issue with the build/wood/cab/speakers/grill/etc. Was to be a temp cab but it sounded sooo good I just stopped (used primarily with a JTM-45 voiced head). It's actually in the ISO box mic'd up for scratch-tracking/rehearsing as I type this - sounds nice with the Compy. Not 100% the tone I want but that's why there's a 412 in the gear room setup w/some Splawn speakers. The G212H Trad cabs are a good, solid option. Especially with the budget framed above...
