Whats the best 4x12 match with a pro mod?.I currently have an older vht slant with v30's..it's ok but i have been told to stay away from the v30's w/my head. The Marshall vintage modern cab sounded pretty good..any suggestions? JD

Why not go with a splawn cab?

Fwiw, I have a Bogner with V30's that I use with my Pro Mod and have no real issues with it. It all depends on taste though. I liked the greenbacks with my Pro Mod too. Just stay away from the GT-75's!

This splawn 4x12 I bought is the bomb. Just got back from practice...cleans sound killer, OD side is brutal...and I'm on gear 1 full time. really warmed up the QR, brown sounding. I don't care what Jimbax says...filtering or not, ...the QR paired with a splawn 4x12 is the perfect match. I had a 2x12 with v30's before this...it's a completely different zip code. You really need to experience the QR or any splawn with the 4x12 or 2x12 it was designed for IMO. I highly recommend it.

I have had Celestions my whole life, it is weird to me to try anything else. So would the BigBlock / SmallBlock 65 combo be the best rounded out tone for a ProMod? I was going to do the Celestion Vintage 30/ GT-75 combo. Thoughts anyone? DD what is wrong with the 75's ??

Fwiw, liked the BB/SB combo a lot and would probably go with that if I was ordering a Splawn cab. It has a great mix of mids and low end. The Celestion 75s I never liked and I liked them evn less with the Pro Mod. It makes the amp sound sterile and not enough punch. The Pro Mod already has less pronounced mids than a Quick Rod and the scooped mids of the 75s made it not cut well. Keep in mind this was with a cab with 4-75s. Maybe mixed with V30s it would sit better.
