I guess I shouldn't be surprised by this being that the design is based of a JCM800. I was messing around with my gain channel eq tonight and I was getting an incredible, pummeling tone by backing the treble off all the way and using my presense more for my high end. It seemed to open the amp up and make it even more huge sounding. Problem is when I switched back to my clean channel...YUCK! It totally lost all oomph and was very fizzy and seemed more gainy. I have the ProMod version just before the latest updated clean channel with the xtra preamp tube. Can someone tell me why this does this? Does the new update solve this "problem". Maybe Tree can answer this for me. I would love to run my gain channel like this, but I can't live with the clean channel with that setting.

That's weird, I will try that today and see if I get the same results.
I usually use my presence on 5 and my treble about 4. I also only have 3 pre tubes in my pro mod, so we'll see if it does the same thing.

Yeah, I hear a littel bit of that too. Doesnt matter to me much though cause I rarely use the actual clean channel. I think a pro stock would have actually worked better for me so I could switch between gear 1 and 2!
I dont have gear3 so I could only test on gear two but i didnt like the sound of the treble off completely.Even with the presence dimed it seemed like something was missing to me.You need a little of that 1K crap to cut through the mix. I need to have mine at least on 2 to get a decent tone. But like I said, gear 3 could be very different.

Hey Edge, I wonder if Scott Splawn could Mod your amp to be able to switch between Gears 1 & 2 instead of the gain and clean channel? If you guys every roll thru NC you should go to his shop.
