Anyone ever tried a KT90? Saw EH is making them. Supposed to be a direct replacement for kt88/6550.
More power?!!!!

Got Electro Harmonix 6550s in! Big thanks to JC!
My amp sounds awesome through his splawn 4x12!
That may be the next purchase!
I liked the Dimarzio D-sonic in the bridge too! I might try that in one of my guitars.
Anyone want 8 greenbacks? They're 1991-1992 Lol!

I might hit you up for some greenbacks if you want to get rid of them.

Well, since I havent played it through my cabs yet, I dont really have a clear idea , but from jc's amp compared to mine, I liked the way mine sounds just a little better(not by much) I would say the middle lower treble is darker and the low end is a little different. We didnt crank loud enough to get real breakup but I would bet the 6550's break up more. Its amazing what proper bias will do.
Josh told me to bias the eh's no higher than 42ma. But of course tubes dont match perfect so we ended up with something like 43.5 42, 42, 39. It sounds smokin'! Gets even a little bit of that "brown" sound I've been looking for with tons of bottom to boot.
i would say if you have JJ's and they have plenty of life and are biased correctly, just wait and maybe try 6550's when you retube. It wont re-voice your amp , but to my ears its a noticeable if only slight improvement.
Yeah I would sell you my greenies. They are broke in very good and I dont think there is any damage. They look like new.The just probably smell like smoke from being in 1000 plus bars(i'm not kidding) Probably the closest you can get to vintage greenbacks without paying the big bucks for a vintage cab.
If I get serious ,I'll post in the for sale section. Would you want 4 or 8?

I think my JJ's still have plenty of life in them because I only use the amp for gigging and the occasional practice. I would probably need 4 GB's to stick in my Bogner 4x12. I have V30's now but after hearing sherder's GB Splawn 4x12 I have been thinking about changing it up. PM the prices.
