Hello all. Just found out about this site and these amps yesterday and I have already decided to buy one. I already have a MK II 100 watt and a JCM 800 lead series 2 channel. I love that head as it already has an extra preamp section. Both sound great with my EMG loaded guitars. I want to go extreme gain with fat tight low end but hate the saturated Mesa Boogies and others like them. Will the Pro sound good with the EMGs. I also have a Strat with a JB Jr in the bridge and I cant wait to hear on this amp.
Also are the Splawns consistant thru the line. You know you can play 10 identical Marshalls and 6 will sound completely different. Thanks in advance for the hepl.

I have EMG's in the all of the guitars that I play the most often; except for my two 7 strings. I love how the EMG's sound with the Pro-Mod. I use 2nd gear with the gain at 2 o'clock. I use 3rd gear with the 7 strings; but that is more a reflection of the music type than the pickups. If you are a fan of the EMG sound; you will be happy using them with a Pro-Mod, too.
I have been planning on doing a review of my new Pro-Mod on here as I use a way different speaker setup(JBL's)than most folks on here. I will try to post it this weekend.

i have a new pro-mod and i had a emg 81 in my Les Paul when i first got it and it sounded pretty good!! i switched to a Duncan sh-5 about two weeks ago and i think it sounds better,IMO emgs sound a little flat and add no flavor to the mix but if they are your thing the you will not be disappointed in the sound of a emg/splawn combo!!
