hey guys!! i am now on the hunt for a second cabinet for my splawn pro-mod,i have a mesa traditional (straight front) cab with the vintage 30s in it. it sounds cool but a little darker and has more low-end growl than i would like for my over all sound.i want to run a second cab(a splawn cab) along with it to brighten things up a little(kinda like doing the x-pattern in one cab, except using two cabs to get one sound, make any sense??) as i have stated on here before i play all heavy metal and i am after a crushing wall of tone (hence the splawn!!) i called the shop today and asked this question and was told to go with the Eminence tone-spotters. any other suggestions for me?? i know this subject has come up a bunch of times before but i don't recall this particular case. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot, Brian

the tonespotters are the emi copies of the celestion 65 watters..I have a pair of ted weber 1265s (copy of the same speaker) in my 2x12 that fookin' crush, man....sounds HUGE..if the tonespotters sound anything like that, it would be a wall of crushing death in a 4x12
for what it's worth, I have my splawn 4x12 loaded with greenbacks

All I can say is ditch that Mesa cab man! I use one in the rehersal studio with my Pro Mod and it makes it sound like crap. Muffled, dark, muddied tone. It's not the speakers, its the cab. I have V30's in my Bogner cab and it's the complete opposite; bright and punchy. Before adding cabs, I suggest replacing the one you are using first.

I forgot to say that. Yes, it seems those cabs really are best with the Rectifiers. Everyother head I have owned and played through it has sounded like garbage and killed the dynamics of the amp.
