I am looking to replace the neck pickups on my 2 Les Paul Classic pluses. Was wondering what you guys could recommend that will clean up the clean channel on my ProMod. I want something that is can be split. I was thinking a Duncan Jazz or maybe having JS Moore build be a custom one.
Thanks, JC

Hey JC, have you decided on any neck pickups yet? It may be a little late to be throwing in my 2 cents, but I just read your post. Have you looked at the DiMarzio Humbucker From He11? I put one in the neck position of my PRS McCarty and it is a really cool pickup. It has a very single-coily sound. Definitely not your typical humbucker. I highly recommend it for a clean bright neck pickup. And it also sounds cool for high-gain lead soloing. I think morecowbell has one of these in the neck of his Charvel and is just as sold on it as I am. Oh, it also has 4-conductor wiring, although I've never tried it split or parallel before, so can't comment on that aspect. You may want to go to DiMarzio's website and read what they have to say about it.
Good Luck with whatever you end up with.

I think I will order one and give it a try.

Just purchased a Dimarzio HFH on Ebay. Hope it clean's up my ProMod's clean channel a bit! I sure hope it works out for ya'. It's output is relatively low, but there are some that are lower. Of course, if you went too low, then you may start losing balance with the bridge pickup. Just out of curiosity, what pickups are you running in the bridge position of your LPs? BTW, if you bought that HFH in cream/black zebra, and decided you didn't like it, I would buy it from you.

I bought a black one. I'll let you know my thoughts on it after it is installed. Thanks again for the suggestion.

The 500T is a really hot pickup, but I'm thinkin' they'll still work fine together. Right now, mine is paired with a PRS HFS (which I love), but I'll soon be trying a Rio Grande BBQ just because I HAVE to hear what that thing sounds like. ;D After that....no more pickup chasing. Yes, please keep me posted on your results. BTW, you may want to hold the "thanks" until after you try it out. LOL!!!! J/K.....sorta'

Dude, I love the Dimarzio Humbucker from Hell! It is so clear and articulate, but yet fat sounding. I like it so much I ordered another one for one of my other LP's. Thanks again for the suggestion!
