Craggin, the PM rocks! I used it at practice last night after not bringing it to the studio out of laziness. I forgot what I was missing! Once the volume gets up to 9:00/9:30 LOOK OUT!! Just tight and crushing gain, SWEEEeeeet. I tried a TS9 in front of it and it sounded really cool. It made it a bit more mushy in a good way. I really am satisfied with this amp than any other one I've had. You are making me miss mine so bad. I only had 4 days with it! Sorry brutha You wil have it back in no time and rocking once again!

Oh man, that sucks dude! Sorry to hear that. I have never blown a fuse in any amp I have owned so I have no experience. In fact, after reading these posts I realize how unprepared I am in case I did blow a fuse at a gig. So, let me ask you guys this, since you and motrock have more experience with blowing tubes than I do. What should I bring to a gig along with my Pro Mod in case of a tube blow-out? What type of fuses, how many, what rating? Also, should I have power tubes that are the same rating so I can just throw new ones in? What should I do (steps) if I blow a tube? I do have some preamp tube sthat I used to carry with me but i don't think they really go that often, correct? Let me know what you guys think. for gigs in my recovery tool case, I carry 4 power tubes.. if something blows and I cant tell which one it is (by its overly glowing red hot plates!) I replace all 4 tubes with the same value, ( scott can recommend I am sure) and 5 fuses of each value, and two 12ax7's, one hot jj, and one balanced. ( also hide $50 in there just in case hahah) then I test in a cheapy tube amp when I get home. as I dont like testing tubes in my expensive amps. also you can find tube testers on ebay.. or look how they are wired internally and use a meter to find some shorts. I don't know value tubes they are because I got the head used. How many fuses are there and what types? are they different on the Pro Mod than the QR?

There are two different fuses. It should say their rating on above them on the chassis. I am not sure if the older PM's are the same as the new, but mine has one 1amp slow blow and one 4amp slow blow fuse. The best way is to take them with you to radio shack and match them. I am not sure if the QR & PM's are fused the same, but I would think so.

I would call scott and ask if he uses a specific ma rated value tube in the pro mod.. as I am betting he does for the splawn sound consistancy! the QR and PM, the fuses are probably the same. I noticed when I work on tube amps... so far they have all been about the same. up to 1 amp on filaments and 4-5 amp on the other circuits.. ( I've seen filaments use as low as 500 ma fuses).
if anyone has their power tube boxes, what are they marked at? Just a BIG guess..45's? since I have the QR, they are different

I still have my power tube boxes for my ProMod and they don't have any rating on them. They are JJ KT88's so I was surpised. Probably have to ask Scott.
