Hey guys, I've got a Pro-Mod and I tried running a noise gate (Rocktron Guitar Silencer) and a Chandler Stereo Digital Echo thru the loop and got nothing but buzzy, distorted, thin, noisy, less gainy sound. I tried these units by themselves, together, with the +4, -10 buttons in and out, and nothing worked. I've got a couple VHT Pittbulls and these units work fine in those amps. Does it sound like something may be broken or is there a chance some FX units are just not compatible with this amp? Neither one of these FX have input or output levels to adjust, their kind of like an amplifier input. Just sends and returns. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All I can think of is adjusting the inputs and outputs on the rack units.

All I can think of is adjusting the inputs and outputs on the rack units. That's just it, there aren't any levels to adjust, only sends and return jacks.

I have the same problem with my QR - I don't currently run any FX with it, but when I experiment, say, with a Rocktron Xpression, I get the same result. Seems like all the bass gets sucked out of the amp. Same setup works fine with my rectifier, so I'm at a loss too.

???Hey I have Scott's first Pro Mod (shared EQ) and his first of the new Pro Mod series. The effects loops work well on both of my amps. I run time-based effects through my Pro Mod effects loops via DMC GCX switcher. I have my DLS EchoTap, DD-3, and G-Major in separate loops with output to my volume pedal >MXR Smartgate> amp fx return. There is no major signal loss or tone degradation - especially no loss of low end. Granted, the amp sounds better running direct signal. I would talk to Scott about your loop. It sounds like there could be something wrong with it. Sorry to hear about your problem.

I gotta do some more experimenting - it must have something to do with the line levels coming off of different effects combined with the loop pad setting on the back of the amp...

Did you ever figure out the problem? I am thinking of getting a mod and a nbit nervous. Where you happy with the mod itself?
