I noticed tonight that my nitro has a good bit of fizz in the tone. I compared it to the QR . in 2 different cabs . The fizz seems to get more pronounced when I turn the treble up . Has anyone else noticed this ? I was also wondering if anyone knows where scott has these biased . 60% or 70% . When I had a tsl I was able to get rid of alot of the fizz by adjusting the bias . I may try that with the nitro also .
Any thoughts ?

the nitro has more saturation which can sound fizzy depending on the bias. i always rebias the amps up myself when i get them. i don't remember how scott biased the nitro when i got it since i just popped the tubes in and biased it to my tastes.

what kind of tubes did you go with, and what combination of speakers/cab produced more fizz with it?

To me the nito doesn't sound that much more saturated . It is definately voiced different but it really doesn't seem to have that much more gain . I'm gonna try to rebias the amp . Do you know the power rateing of kt77's .. I know for el34's its 25 watts but I have no clue on kt 77's.

There's a difference between more saturated and more gain. Scott will tell you himself that the Nitro really doesn't have that much more 'gain'. +1 +2 It comes down more to how the how amp responds to your playing and "feels" when you're playing. The Nitro is more saturated ala a Boogie or something similar in that it has a little more "give" when you're playing, where as the QR is a little more stiff and rigid. Both are exceptionally tight, so it really comes down to preference and what you're comfortable on. The Nitro definitely doesn't have a lot more gain.

yea ok I agree with that . I got my terms mixed up . I call it sag you call it saturation . So does anyone know what the power rateing of a kt77 is ? I'm going to rebias my amp tonight to try and get rid of some of the fizz . I am assuming the power rateing is 25 watts since they are direct replacements for el 34s By direct replacements I meant that you don't have to change a resistor.

I rebiased my nitro tonight . I brought it up to 65% it was set at 55 % .I was listening to it as I brought it up and I believe this fixed the fizz . I will know for sure later when I spend some more time playing it .
Thanks for the help windsen

Yo, Can anyone give me a "how-to" on setting my bias. I know nothing about electronics so speak in dummy terms!! I have a Nitro with kt77's and have experienced that fizz.
