Ok guys, first of all I'd like to say that from what I've heard, most of you guys are way better guitar players than me. Also, I've been playing Mesa Boogie exclusively for the last 8 years. So changing to Splawn is a huge difference. So here it goes. - The Nitro is the loudest amp I've ever played. Louder than the 5150 that held the original title! I have the volume around 7 O'Clock and it's freaking slammin. I play in colliseums and don't play much louder than that. - The clean is very tight and unforgiving. Good for you guys, bad for me. (forces me to be a better player I guess) Although it has no Mid control, i think we all know that mids are not hard to get out of a Splawn. Altogether, it sounds great. (if you have a QuickRod, it sounds the same as that) - The Overdrive is ridiculous. If you're a "gainiac" you'll love it. I usually am really big on Gain, but I had to set it back to between 10-11 o'clock. Once you've passed 12 o'clock, it's like your face starts to hurt. The gain structure is awesome. Also the bass is kicking! I've seen a lot of you say that it was too much, I feel like it's got enough headroom to get as much or as little as you need. It's seems good for me at 11 o'clock. Mids at 11:30. This seems to be the sweet spot on this cabinet. My biggest thing I was worried about was the Treble. I was worried it would be too piercing. Turns out it is just right. I have to dial it down to 10 o'clock and set the prescence around 1:30. This combo seems to make a good pleasing sound to the ear. Not too bright and not dull. The resonance I set around 11 o'clock. I'm not real used to dealing with a Resonance knob, so I'm still trying to see where I like it. - 4x12 w/ SB and BB x-pattern This is also my first time using these type speakers. I've been playing a Marshall loaded with Celestion G75's for the last 5 years. So switching is weird. I like the response it has to the Splawn. I plugged my Mesa into it though and it really sounded horrible. That makes me wonder if the Splawn would sound better through some V30's. I'm playing a show this weekend in FL where I will be able to try it with 3 different cabs (SB/BB Splawn, Vintage 30's Mesa, G75's Marshall) I'll know for sure then which I like best. My Splawn cab sounds great though. Plenty of bass (if required) and very tight mids. I guess that's what I would say about this cabinet as a whole. It sounds very tight and responsive to the Nitro.
Hope this all made sense. If anyone has suggestions on settings, let me know and I'll try and see what we get.

that's funny man, I had a Mesa for 5 years and it sounded huge through my 2x12 with V30's. The Quickrod sounded ok, but lost all the hugeness. Try it, you may like the V30's, but the speakers you have were designed for the amp you bought. I just got 2 BB's (plus a couple scumbacks) and put hem in a 4x12 and they sound 1000.09 % better than the V30's.
