tubes ?

can someone please tell me the difference in the available tubes for the nitro . I am familiar with el34s . I am under the impression that the 77s have more bottom end as do the 88s . I was wondering if someone could comfirm this . If this is the case is that the main difference ? Are there other noticible differences as well ? whats the difference between the 77's and the 88's.

also if I go with 77's can I just drop el34s in and rebias or do I have to change a resistor ?

I think Shreder confirmed this in an older thread, if I'm wrong he'll be along to correct me. You can do the swap with the 77's and 34's with a bias, no resistor change.
the 88's are a different beast, need some sort of resistor change, I don't know the details. the search function isn't the greatest, but try searching on 'resistor'. you may find the thread with the details.
