Oh yeah Windsen, what kind of microphone are you using to record with and what recording software are you using? It sounds really good.

lifter, cool looking amp. i dont believe scott was doing black control panels until he designed the nitro.
thanks for the kind words about the recording. my setup is really simple. i am really no expert at recording. basically i have an sm57 (propped up on a shoebox haha) running into an m-audio firewire solo audio interface into a laptop. i just record straight into a program called cool edit pro that i got like 4 years ago. no post production or anything. just real straight forward. hope that helps.

Thanks bro. I'm going to be upgrading my recording equipment to computer based really soon. I'm using a boss multitracker the one with the 8 inputs. It records okay, but has issues with high volumes as far as input level, so its hard to get a real chunky/saturated tone recorded. I have used a senheiser 609 for years and have loved the versatility and smoothness of it on recordings.

Okay here's a bit of an amp with respect to the Nitro and the two Splawn cabs.
Man, I just got done playing the Nitro through my old Splawn cab. I think I may actually like how the Nitro sounds and most notably how it responds with the old Eminence speakers. I don't know if it's because my new Splawn cab isn't really broken in all the way but the old Splawn cab is a lot more punchy and tight. It helps even out the darkness of the Nitro and really helps to bring the notes out. The amp feels more responsive overall. I think I'm going to pull my old Splawn 412 off the for sale market and just sell some other stuff. I think my new QR will actually match up perfectly with the new Splawn cab while the Nitro will match up perfectly with the old Splawn cab.
I know a lot of people were comparing my old QR clips (i.e. my Redneck clip) with the new Nitro clip. I have a feeling that if I record a track with the Nitro through the old Splawn cab, the Nitro will still have that darker/saturated sound, but the notes will really pop out and have some punch and cut. So stay tuned for some new clips.

Yeah i've noticed too that the older cab has more punch and cut, and the newer one is fatter and more saturated. You're getting a new QR? So why did you sell your old one? Please give us a comparsions of the cabs with the QR as well if you can man.

I'm curious to try the Nitro through my V30 Mesa cab. I have a feeling the voicing will match it well. I'm digging the QR through the BB/SB 65 cab. I enjoy Gear 1 the most, and with that cab...you can run Gear 1 with the attack and bite is has, but it bulks up the sound so that it also hits you with a thump as if you were on Gear 2.

I agree. Gear 1 through my new 4x12 is a whole new ballgame. the BB's really beef it up. and the scumbacks roll off the highs a little...sounds great.
