Speakers for Quick Rod.

Hello!

I got a 2016 Splawn Quick Rod with a Marshall 1960A Slant cab. The cab has stock G12T-75 speakers. I’m looking to replace them with Celestion M65 Creambacks & thinking of getting Vintage 30 to pair with. Has anyone ever tried this combo with a Quick Rod?

I’m also considering Creamback & Greenbacks in a X pattern

Would like to hear experiences and open to any suggestions

Hey there..

I think the creamback x greenback combo would be way better.

My QR doesn't sound as great through my V30 loaded Mesa cab.

That seems to be common consensus on the Vintage 30s with Splawns. Something about the mids. Although some people like the V30 with the Splawn.

I have Splawn Small Blocks in my 212 and prefer those myself.

Absolutely creamback with greenbacks. I have that cab and it is the sh!t. V30 too harsh for splawn.

Another vote for the green/creamback.
I have 2 cabs with a small block/G12T75 combo and it’s a great match.

Thanks for the advice. I’m going to go with greenbacks instead. Has anyone tried Small Blocks with Creambacks? The price on those look really good.

From what i have heard, small blocks are very similar to greenbacks so that would be a good combo.
