Hey Splawners, happy Independence Day to all the Yanks out there! Forum has been a bit slow of late, thought I'd share... In a new band, played our first gig last Saturday, was a 50th birthday thing for our keyboardist. Masks were kinda worn and social distancing was kinda done... oh well. Everyone had a good time. Sadly I didn't play well. Tone was kinda weird too. Fortunately I redeemed myself at practice last week! So I did some rig troubleshooting after the gig. First thing I did was just plug straight in, sounded great! Found out that a cheap little flanger I use for Barracuda (Donner Jet Convolution) was flaky, touched it and it hissed, popped etc... It's gone! Found a setting on my multi effects that sounds better anyway for that song. I was also worried about my new Mooer Free Step volume/wah... but that thing sounds great, and it's true bypass (along with touch sensitive pads to turn on when you step on it). Again, if you're having tone issues pull everything else out of the equation and see what's up, it's probably not your Splawn! Anyway, like I said at practice last week it sounded really good, one of those hit a chord and smile moments. Have a safe and fun 4th everyone!

It’s crazy how sensitive the amp is, right? But you absolutely did the right thing by bypassing everything to find the culprit.
